COCO... Rocha !!

My second favorite famous Coco is a miss Coco Rocha. For those of you who do not know her, she is a famous model. She has done all of the high fashion magazines like Vogue, but also does the fun more adolescent ones like Nylon. The specific picture I chose(above) is from Vogue April 2008. It was a message to all the readers to keep an eye out for the upcoming superhero blockbusters. That same year, other magazines recreated Disney fairy tales to get the same feeling. For example, Gisele Bundchen did a older/ more modern day version of Peter Pan with the famous ballet turned actor Mikhail Baryshnikov. They were the perfect pair in my opinion because Gisele has always had that mystical/ mermaid look to her and Mikhail has the best ballet legs out there. That's what happens when you join the Kirov Ballet of Leningrad at a very young age. Anyway, back to Coco... This famous picture from Vogues April 2008 issue was strictly a way to turn movie goers into fashionista's. I think for Vogue, they did quite well in that aspect. The main thing that struck me was the colors. Her hair is a blazing red/ orange and her dress a gorgeous aqua/ teal with hints of royal blue. Then the detail; the gloves, the evil points at the top of her strapless dress, the butterflies/ leaves in her hair(can't make it out), the waves in and out of her dress make you feel like your looking at a dark sea, the way her fingers are spread to show she will not back down in the face of fear, the arch in her back shows that she is positioned to fight to death like a true hero, the heels give off a strong but fierce vibe and last but definitely not least... THE BOOK! The book shows everything else that you do not see from Coco. They are the perfect combination for this particular spread. This was the most creative spread I have ever seen. She's like a fictional character in a pop up book and you can't look away. If this was an actual book, ever person(not just child) would have it across the world. I chose her for that specific reason. You CAN"T look away! I know why they chose her to do the spread, now I hope all of you do as well =)

I had to add the Peter Pan picture I discussed above... FLAWLESS!!!

I hope you all enjoy your little Coco lesson! Keep an eye out for her in magazines. She's everywhere!!

Orange is Sometimes the Current Black ;)

I chose the picture below mainly for the purse. I bought the purse at Marshall's and added the lace to give it what it was desperately missing. The dress is Lauren Conrad and you can't see it because I am wearing a cover up, but it is a beautiful one shoulder ruffled top and it's baby doll around the belly which is great if you are not a fan of things that hug or that are skin tight. I chose a gladiator bangle mainly because I love them and it also complete the outfit when I was not wearing the cover up. I have bright orange earrings on to reflect off the dress. I chose orange because it is the brightest color of the dress and your accessories should always pop in a dramatic way to what you are wearing. That day I also chose to do a side hairdo with curls on the no sleeve side of the dress because I am weird about showing too much skin! Lol.. You will learn that I am a freak through this blog, trust me! Everyone has their oddness about themselves and if you all learn mine, my job is complete =) I'm not too sure how often I will blog, but no less than two a week. Pinkie swear!! Well, hope you got some tips and i'll possibly post tomorrow!!

Random fact: It takes a full three minute song to comb through my hair after I take a shower. Lol. In case you were wondering!
The wax Daniel Craig and I in Vegas, ca. He's so handsome and my spray tan  really  helped me out that weekend! LOL.

Just Like Coco

I've decided to start a fashion blog! This is my very first entry and I just wanted to explain what it will be about and why I chose the the title and what not. I went with "Just Like CoCo" because my favorite fashion designer is Coco Chanel! She is my inspiration in life and fashion. She started off with nothing and sewing her way to the top. She is an amazing person to look up to and to grow from. Coco once said, "in order to be irreplaceable one must always be different." You probably take away the just of what she means by that, but in case you don't, i'll let you know. She means to be yourself and you will shine. If you choose to follow someone else than you wont be you and no one will know you for you. I hope you all enjoy my blog and learn things from it. Hopefully you all can put your entire closet in outfits without hesitation and be brave enough to walk out of the house!! I will also cover movies here and there and share my thoughts on the latest music and books. Thanks for reading =)
